We are proud to announce that CBD Facility Management has commissioned M-power software to design a preventative maintenance program software which can be customised to the requirements of each individual building.

The objectives of individual buildings including all aspects are taken into account and then built into the system. The software is  easy to use and provides the user with the appropriate information needed to make effective maintenance decisions. The program allows for tracking of the history of each specific item.

CBD Facility Management was invited to attend the City Of Melbourne draft "Bicycle Plan" workshop. As managers of high-rise buildings which house bikes we considered it paramount to attend The broad goals of the workshop as we understand it, is to: Plan and deliver a connected cycling network Build high quality routes for local cycling trips Increase participation in cycling Make cycling safe Introduce advances in cycling innovation We are keen to see the above goals realised but our specific purpose for attending the workshop was to voice our concerns on the lack of secure bicycle storage both in current buildings and new developments By 2016, it is expected that cycling will account for 6 per cent of all trips to, from and within the city. The broad aim of the plan is to make Melbourne safer and more attractive for current and future cyclists. Our question is - Where will all these bikes be securely stored? Please call our office if you would like information on where and how to obtain valuable advise on bicycle storage. Call 03 9666 3324

Melbourne - Our City "The trees look Ok" I hear you say. Well the relief from the 10 year drought has helped BUT! The City Of Melbourne has just released a draft Urban Forest Stratergy for community consultation. The Stratergy is a response to the large scale loss that is currently effecting  the tree population in the municipality. It has been reported that within ten years a third of the current tree population may be lost and 44 percent could be lost within the next 20 years. The Urban Forest Stratergy seeks to manage this change and protect against future vulnerability and risk. So where to from here? Well, If you really care about your local community get involved. Have your say.

Adding Value to your investment in a declining market: Anyone with an interest in the Melbourne CBD property market will be up to speed with its sugggested sluggish performance at present. It's reported that CBD apartment sales are down. We are told that the real estate agents are feeling the financial effects in thier hip pocket and that property owners are having to accept lower than hoped for sale prices.

"Out of your hands" we hear you say, well maybe. However what if it was not totally out of your control. What if you had a say in the process of obtaining a higher sale price. YOU MAY BE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT your list of "things to do" when placing your apartment on the market begins not when you're ready to sell but from the moment you have taken possession. Just as an elite athlete trains to be in peak performance for an important event so to must a prospective seller plan well in advance to get the property ready for that gold medal performance on auction day.

Our "things to do" list provides suggestions at no cost to you on how to improve your bottom line. our expert team can walk you through and offer advice on how to maximise your investment. Please call and ascertain if the above applies to you. Tel. 03 9666 3324

Cadel Evans wins the Tour de France - what an advertisement for pedal power. The city of Melbourne is promoting bicycle riding in the city. New bike lanes, banks of hire  bikes along our footpaths. According to Cycling Victoria the number of riders has increased significantly in the last five years. Bicycle Victoria states that a steady increase in bike riding commenced some ten years ago. Bicycle Victoria promotes "ride to work"day  (12th October 2011) Well, with all those bikes and with positive campaigns reinforcing the value of bike riding, who is thinking about secure bike racks? Can CBD residents feel safe leaving their bikes in basement car parks. Who is responsible? Is anybody listening to the bicycle rider?

A CBD Facility Manager was recently asked by a family living in the high residential tower how our products can play a part in beginning to create a HEALTHY Living environment. We have 3 easy steps you can follow.

1. Reduce dust. - A micro filter in your vacuum cleaner is a good start.
2. Use Green Cleaning Products
3. Test your drinking water for contaminants  - Water testing is the only way you can adequately assess what you are actually drinking.
